Howdy. I turned off the suggested replies feature because it was confusing to folks in the office (I do like the idea of predicting blurbs).

With the feature off I …
1) saved a couple suggested replies via “saved replies” tab
2) replied to a new customer contact
3) but the suggested replies still pre-populate the reply mail

Is there a way to have the pre-population not occur so we can just use the “suggest replies” dropdown to select our desired blurb?

Great service, by the way. I’m loving the majority of it so far.

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Glad to hear you like the service so far! You’re actually the first one to request turning off the initial suggestions altogether. We don’t have that capability right now, but you could get close by doing the following:

1. Create a new empty saved reply.
2. Whenever you want to type a new reply, instead of deleting whatever is there, choose the empty saved reply first.

After a while, the system should start to “suggest” the empty saved reply, which will give you the effect you want. If this doesn’t work for you let us know and we’ll look into adding a feature to turn off the initial suggestion altogether.

Oh, by the way, one thing we do at Sproutit is we have an empty reply that looks something like this:

Hello RECIPIENT_FIRST,

Your Friend at Sproutit,
- SENDER_FIRST

We choose this saved reply whenever we want to send a new email not covered by one of our templates. It saves some typing and ensures everyone who responds has a nice friendly greeting. :-)

You other users might find this more helpful than a simple blank response window.
