Yeah, IMAP is something I’d love to do eventually but its honestly not a likely feature in the near future. Mailroom has a lot of features (assignment, tagging, internal notes) that don’t easily map to how IMAP organizes email. So far we haven’t come up with a way of achieving this blend that we’re satisfied with.

That said, we know that logging into Mailroom to do your work is not always feasible/desirable. We’re thinking of some ways to make it more accessible to your current workflow….

While my mobile access request would solve the problem for our company and would be our preference, another option would be supporting IMAP stores.

This would let us continue to access our email on our server and work with it for the times that we can’t get to Mailroom.

Although we could achieve some similar things with a POP account, we prefer IMAP because of the additional options it gives us. Some mail servers don’t support POP access (we generally don’t allow it).
