Topic: Help! / Mail delays? Thanks for posting about the delays. We have been working on both the delays in receiving and sending. The were two separate issues both of which have finally been corrected. Receiving problems were due to the Mailer’s hard drives filling up. We created some more space and it is working again. Sometimes it is the simple things that get you ;-( The email sending and several other small oddities were due to a few of the older accounts had corrupt CRM files that are responsible for the auto assign intelligence. They were creating exceptions and causing several events such as email sending and notifications to backup. We have removed the files and created a guard if it happens again. @Bo – Thanks for the phone calls. They helped us correct the problem sooner. |

Topic: Announcements / Mailroom is sending email again It was brought to our attention that Mailroom stopped delivering outgoing email sometime yesterday. All of the out going email was stored in our servers and waiting to be delivered. We were able to correct the problem this morning and all of the email is now being delivered to your customers. We are very sorry for the delay in delivering your email and we appreciate all of you who brought this to our attention. Your Friends from Sproutit |

Topic: Help! / Server error deleting a user We are having some issues with deleting users. When a user is deleted the database goes through all of the messages and reassigns them to the account holder. When there are more than a few hundred messages to reassign the database becomes overwhelmed. We are going to be issuing a fix for this in the next few months but it is part of a larger project to restructure the DB in preparation for the next version. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Google Chrome Ahh the bleeding edge… Though the Google team was kind enough to make sure the latest version of SproutCore (the javascript framework Mailroom is built on) works with Chrome, the current Mailroom is not just yet. When Google Chrome gets closet to final release (or at least has a beta version for mac) well take a look at compatibility. Thanks for the post! |

Topic: Help! / Problems replying twice Hey Michael, Is it possible you are experiencing the automatic suggested reply feature? Mailroom will automatically insert a reply to the email based on your previous replies. It is kind of like a spam filter but for good :-) You will also notice a “Saved Replies” button in the upper right corner of the reply box. if you click that you will get a menu of other saved replies. You can find more about saved replies here |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Request: Use my own SMTP server You are right Ask. I can’t think of a good way to accomplish this with a standard email setup. I honestly haven’t considered this type of set up. We will be implementing IMAP but that will not allow you to actually send the replies from your servers. I’ll file is and bring it up at the next tech meeting. Thanks for the idea. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / SSL Certificate Authority not recognized We have contacted the company several times attempting to get rid of the warnings but wasn’t able to correct the problem. The SSL is working properly but the browsers on certain computers are not properly recognizing the certificates. If you clear the warning once they won’t come back. I’m really sorry and we are still working on this. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Can't print from Sproutit You bring up a good issue Ask. Mailroom was build on the original version of SproutCore. which doesn’t play well with the print function in Safari and FireFox. We will be updating to the latest version of SproutCore which will do a better job. In the meantime the best option is usually to cut and paste the emails into a word processor or text editor. |

Topic: Help! / Credit Card Security If you are on a personal or basic plan the data is not encrypted. We will be implementing SSL for these types of transactions on all accounts but for a temporary work around can will enable SSL on your account until you are done entering your credit information. Just send me an email. |

It looks like we missed this one :-( Thanks for reviving the thread Ask! The current version of Mailroom doesn’t have an export built in but if needed we can give you a CSV dump of your emails/contacts. Just send us an email and well have it for you in a day or two. The next version will come with some powerful API’s that will allow you to pull your data via XML and JSON. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Signatures? Good question Robert. The best alternative to signatures right now is to use the macros built into Mailroom. We are building more standard signatures in the next version. Ask: |

Topic: Help! / No attachment Support? Hey Glen, I’m sorry we didn’t make it a little easier to find but the attachments button is right above the send button in the reply box. A trick to get Mailroom to reply form multiple addresses is to POP check the email accounts. When using pop Mailroom will automatically reply to the address the email was sent to. It will also add the option to reply from that address in the drop down in the reply box. I agree about better filters. Mailroom has some pretty decent ways to search for emails using the All Messages page but more filters for sorting the lists would be nice. We are already working to add more filters to the next version due next year. Thanks for posting and I hope that helps! |

Topic: Help! / HTML/Images in emails Your welcome. The next version should be out next year. We had to put it on temporary hold when interest in our open source project (SproutCore) increased. The positive in the delay is there has been some tremendous improvements to the framework we use to build Mailroom. We are excited to see what we are able to build over the next year. |

Topic: Help! / HTML/Images in emails We decided to leave out HTML in the current version of Mailroom as the goal was to get through your emails as quickly as possible and formatting emails were not asked for. With that said we are working on adding the option to turn on html editing in the next version. Thanks for posting! |

Topic: Announcements / Mailroom Unaccessible Mailroom is back online. We are very sorry for the disruption in service last night (especially to our overseas friends). It appears there were some issues with file system on the server that receives the email for Mailroom. The team at Liquid Web was able to rebuild the file system and resort everything back to 100%. The work they did will also help a few of the accounts that have been experiencing slow email delivery. For the next few hours email delivery will be delayed as we are working to deliver all the email that was received though the night. Again we are sorry for the disruption and thank you all for being patient with us. Your Friends from Sproutit. |

Topic: Announcements / Mailroom Unaccessible Mailroom is went offline around 8:15 PST. We have been communicating with the data center and it appears we may have some faulty hardware on the server that receives the email causing the load spike. All of the data is safe. I will post any additional information as it comes in. Thank you for your patience as we let the experts get Mailroom back online. |

Topic: Help! / Replying from original address I’m glad you are liking Mailroom :-) If you would like to reply using multiple address POP is the best option. Mailroom will send the email using the same address the email was originally sent to. We haven’t quite figured out how to have the replies sent back to your other email server but we are working on it. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Default CC The best way to keep you team informed on the happenings in Mailroom is to have everyone use the different feeds if your team is accustom to using RSS. This works best as it keeps everyone’s inbox from becoming overwhelmed but still allows people to follow conversations. If you would like to stick with the CC scenario you can turn on notifications and have it sent to another email account that is set up as a distribution list. In the next version we are looking to add some filters to auto route emails and such. |

Topic: Help! / Custom domain? That is a good idea Michael. Currently that is only available to distributor accounts but we can take a look to see if that would be possible to open to all accounts. The reason it is limited now is we have to reset Mailroom for the domain change to take effect and it is not reversible. Opening it up would interfere with other people too much. Thanks for Posting! |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Cancel account - not working I’m sorry you are having trouble reseting the account. Would you mind emailing me your account name at contact@sproutit.com? I’ll close the account for you. We are working it now but accounts will not close properly. |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / SSL Certificate Authority not recognized Hey Frederik, Sorry for the scary warning. The company that issues our SSL cert is having trouble with it’s wildcard certs. We are trying to work with them to get this fixed but it doesn’t seem to be happening. We will have it working or get a new cert soon. For now once you clear the warning it shouldn’t come back. |

Topic: Announcements / Slow Connectivity We are very sorry for all those having to put up with a very slow Mailroom today. Some of the connections upstream from our data center are having problems. Only people from certain regions are experiencing the slowdown. We have not been given any time estimates yet as the malfunctioning equipment is not under our data center’s control. We will be sure to update here with any information we receive. Thank you for your patience as we give the experts time to work. Your Friends from Sproutit |

Topic: Feature Requests and Bugs / Bug - Search not working somtimes The search is more of a literal search. Meaning it won’t find partial names and numbers very well. Would you mind sending me an example next time you are searching and Mailroom doesn’t return anything? I can check and see if the search indexer is working properly. Thanks for the post! |
